What is the difference in duplication and replication?

Duplication:  CDs are duplicated from a master onto blank CDs using CD burners much like recording a blank tape.  Usually done with quantities smaller than 1000.

Replication:  This is the preferred process.  CDs are manufactured from a created master plate using plastic pellets that are heated and pressed into a CD.  Most large quantities are manufactured using this process.
